...Ford repair the rear axle bearing issues?

I am not having any problems with my 06 MGM, but just wondering if I might need to start to prepare for a problem.

If I park it after driving in the rain, the next morning when backing out and turning the steering wheel, there is a slight "rump..rump..rump" noise coming from the rear wheel areas...only in reverse, with the front wheels turned and on the brakes...

Problem was bad axles in '03, the metal was softer than it should have been and axles got chewed. All years can break an axle but it's usually due to poor maintenance(not realizing your axle is leaking)

Also, 2005.5+ had 31 spline axles which are a bit thicker.

RE: what model year did...
gotcha...when I replaced my valve stems I had a peek at the brakes...pads are getting a little thin in the rear but the noise seems more like something grabbing and then letting go...only in reverse with the front wheels turned rather sharp, at slow speeds while on the brakes (backing out of a driveway or parking space, if you will)
I only hear the noise when brakes are cold or vehicle was parked after it was wet or damp out = first start up after sitting for hours. if I drive to store, when I leave the store and back out of the parking spot, no noise.

Thanks for your input.
