RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
Does your car have heated mirrors?
I was looking at getting the TC mirrors so I can have the thermometer and match both sides, I noticed that most of the era were heated.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
Yes, my mirrors are heated. I'm 99% sure all town cars in the same era of mine had heated mirrors. Being as mine is a "base" model town car.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
I always liked the box TCs, yours looks great in that color but black would be sharp as well. Also really like those wheels, sporty but almost wire-wheel like so they look good on the formal TCs.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
Thanks! This summer I'm really hoping to get it repainted and I haven't decided what color yet. Black, deep blue of some sort, or I was considering some kind of extremely dark and deep gun metal style thing.

And I actually don't have those stock lace wheels on it right now, just some big steelies. I can't find a nice aftermarket that fits that I like. So many are so close, but aren't dished or not available in a size I need or way too expensive. But I wanna keep the stock lacy look. Only blacker.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
Any of those color choices should look great on that car. What color is the interior? Black or dark/medium grey would look great with a dark/deep gun metal exterior.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
It's the midnight blue interior. Changing interior color would be more expensive than changing exterior color I think. Unless I could find an all black replacement.

A dark blue interior should work well with any of those color choices.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
Don't know....I like your color. I've always had an issue with repainting a different color unless you were going all out and doing the jams, engine bay, under hood and trunk.
Looks cheap and cheesy when you open your door or trunk and it's a different color.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
That's the only way to do it, Vincent. I'd wanna pull ALL the trim and go all out.

RE: The Tombstone (LTC)
In as good of condition that the car is in, look at a DuPont color called, "ST. MORITZ FIREMIST METALLIC BLUE". I painted one of my first new cars that color, and under every kind of light that hits it, at night time, it changes color from a deep purple to a light medium blue.
Believe me you will never find a blue that will impress you more with its sheer beauty in the daylight, with all of its metallic sparkle, and its amazing color change at night time. Plus it will go with any color blue interior, and your vinyl top.
Other than that, definitely black, so long as there are no dings left unfixed, or wavy body work. If so, forget black, as in "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT", several times. Good luck, and find a great body/paint man, because a long beauty like that deserves the best!

P.S.: The blue was a Cadillac color.
