Steering issue
I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this issue. My 06 GM is starting to turn hard at times. Not all the time, and doesn't seem to be speed or engine rpm dependent. But sometimes when I turn it fights back, then goes all at once. Like there is a stoppage in the lines or the pump is bad maybe?

RE: Steering issue
Check your steering shaft first. Corroded ones will cause hard and erratic steering.

RE: Steering issue
Steering shaft is under recall too, if it hasn't been done, check it out.

RE: Steering issue
When I bought the car I had it checked because the recall had just came out and it was fine. Can I have it re-checked under the same recall or is a one and done sort of thing?

RE: Steering issue
Yes you can have it checked again. Call your dealer and have them check for open recalls.. They actually re opeopened that recall for inspection/repairs. Some jobs were botched and were allowing the lower steering column support bearing to drop down out of its bore and allowing the lower portion of steering column shaft to contact a bracket. .

RE: Steering issue
When I called the local dealer the lady who I talked to said she looked it up in the database ( osprey or ocean or something) and that there was no open recalls for my car.
