New guy from Surprise, AZ
Hey everyone. I'm John, and started driving the Crown Vic patrol cars as a rookie in Feb 1998. I've literally put tens and tens of thousands of miles on the squad cars over my career. As I close that chapter on my life and look at retiring and starting a second career, I wanted to get a clean Crown Vic or Grand Marquis to drive into my retirement.

I picked up a VERY clean, one owner 2003 Light Tundra Grand Marquis GS this week with 123,000 miles. The original owners were elderly, and took care of this car! Garaged, equipped with new Michelins, so clean you could eat off the dash! Paint is perfect! Carfax shows no accidents.

The plans are to put dual exhaust, 17" mustang wheels, and tint the windows. After reading some posts, it looks like I should take the stainless wheel arch covers off before I move to Virginia next spring to prevent rust issues. Eventually, I'd like to put thicker front and rear sway bars.

RE: New guy from Surprise, AZ
Since these Michelin tires are new, I'm thinking of finding some 16" Mustang wheels. I think I read that the 2005-2009 V6 Mustangs had 16" alloys that fit. Is that correct?

Yup, anything off those years will fit.

I, also had brand new Michelins on mine when acquired. My advise (what I did): keep for winter use, or sell them to help fund new wheels/tires. I went straight to 18's, 255-45/18.......puts so much rubber on the road these big cars need. Along with sway bars, gas shocks, control arms, mine tracks down the road like a cruise missile. Not a floaty grandpa car, even though I am a grandpa! lol
