Nothing wrong with LS swap IMHO go for it.
It's not ideal but it is cheap American made power.
GM got a Government bailout, you might as well get something out of it for your money lol.

RE: Crown Vic P71
You hear of people swapping in junkyard LS motors...plopping on a small turbo and pushing out power that you would drain your bank account if you tried to match those numbers modding a 4.6 2v.
That's a fact that Ford purists hate to admit.

MO pics please Big Grin

RE: Crown Vic P71
Thanks guys.

I don't really have a brand loyalty, especially working in a shop where I see the flaws of every manufacturer.

If it comes to an LSX swap, it's mainly due to the ridiculous low cost of a junkyard engine, and the tremendous aftermarket support, again with lower cost per HP versus the Ford stuff. Even if I did a 4 valve, it wouldn't touch the LSX for the money.

Did some basic maintenence today.

Did you use Dorman cooler lines or Motorcraft? I agree on the price factor of the Chevrolet engines.. I've built alot of small blocks with tremendous power for next to nothing compared to what it takes for a Ford engine of equal stature. There was a fella from mm.net at the first panther nationals that had swapped a LS engine into a Marauder. Didn't see it but heard about it.

4v stuff is so much cheaper now though, but it's still not cheaper than LSX.
World's fastest MM has supercharged rat motor BTW

That I couldn't tell you. I had to measure mine today to get the correct (29mm) bushings. I just used my cheapie digital caliper.

Yea. I noticed that. I still love the sounds my cousins 2.8KB terminator made.

The Dorman "HD" lines.

Still not 100% on what path I will take on the build. Still soaking up all the info.

Just looking for something fun to drive and reliable at the same time.

Quickly installed the 5.25" JL VR components in the doors. I've had these in my last 3 Daily drivers. Hope to get the amplifiers installed tonight. Head unit is in as well. I can't deal with not having Pandora in the car!

Geez. looking at those pics makes me want to clean the car even more! That door panel looks nasty. Which reminds me. I need to source new carpet, drivers seat and a few misc interior trim panels.

I would have deleted my post but not allowed, I started to answer Timmy's question regarding swaybar bushings but then realized it was off topic so I started a new thread instead.
So you didn't miss anything, sorry lol.
